a project by ICCG

The two mornings of Film Festival will be dedicated to elementary and high school students, with two activities designed for different age groups.

On the morning of Friday, December 12th Nadia Mirabella, educator of Eniscuola, will involve elementary school children in a lesson to raise awareness even in children of the tenderest age on such important issues as climate change, renewable energy and sustainability. In particular, on the  occasion of Expo 2015, the message that the Festival wants to launch is an invitation to make responsible choices about what we eat, drink and, in the broadest sense, consume.

What's on my plate? A history of food, water and energy is the title of: “Whether it’s pasta, meat, rice or vegetables, the food on our table makes our day. But what we see on our plate is just a small part of the story. The seminar, aimed at 4th and 5th grade elementary school children, will try to explain the fundamental, invisible aspects of food production: the impact of the sector on ecology and water, local food production, the fight against waste of resources and energy. The goal is to create a true awareness about food and our consumption, stimulating a critical reflection that will lead to concrete action”.
